Manifest the Right Way With These 3 Steps
“Manifesting to the universe”, this term became the new way of living for millennials and Generation Z. “The law of attraction” and the power of the universe is almost a contemporary thinking between a new age religion and a coping mechanism.
The law of attraction has been known for centuries (although some resources state early 18th century, using imagination and the mind has been around even earlier, since the 1200s) but it recently has been popularized by Rhonda Byrne’s famous book “The Secret”.
The secret states that there is no secret in life and everything that you are looking for is right inside, within you. By visualizing, “acting as if”, journaling, and by simply wanting anything you desire from the universe can make things happen.
It sounds simple, isn’t it? Yet, many people struggle to really benefit from the law of attraction. Some people already lost their belief in the whole process.
There is a reason for not being successful in manifesting and fulfilling your dreams. By simply wanting something, can we really turn it into reality? If so, how come some people are changing their lives with merely “wanting” and others continue being in the same place that they were before?
Clearly, there are more layers to the law of attraction than you would expect. If you’ve been trying to manifest to the universe but hasn’t been successful, here is how to finally get a good handle over manifesting successfully in 4 steps:
1- Wanting vs. Desire
We all want something, right? Say I want ice cream. I can sit down and think about how much I want ice cream all day, yet, I still won’t have ice cream in my hands. Or, I can picture the ice cream in my mind, really remember the flavors, almost sensing how it feels to have ice cream in my mouth. That sensational experience will make my mind turn that “wanting” into a strong desire. My mind will find a way to get the ice cream. This can be done in a variety of ways from going to the store to asking a friend to deliver, or making your own. Finally, I will have the ice cream in my hands, ready to eat. This is the difference between simple wanting and manifesting.
Anyone can want anything. However the emotions and the attitude behind “wanting” is an important indicator for successful manifestation. The inspiring researcher and influential speaker, John Assaraf asks a great question that helps distinguishing wanting from desire. He asks “Are you interested or are you committed?”. Only if you are committed you will do whatever it takes to get what you want and the universe will open the doors for you. However, it will always be YOU who needs to do the walking.
So, are you interested in what you want or are you committed?
2- Create the Emotional “State”
As you get more and more familiar with the law of attraction and manifesting, you will hear about the term “state”. The “State” stands for the emotional state that you are in while manifesting your desires. For example, when you are in a state of gratitude, you may have positive feelings such as satisfaction, happiness, grateful or love. On the contrary, when you are in a state of fear, you may feel overwhelming negative emotions such as guilt, lack of confidence, anger, or even resentment.
The state that you are manifesting in is an important factor for your progress in creation. Imagine you desire success, more money, or a better job in your life because you are afraid that you cannot buy a home or you cannot pay your mortgage. Your state is negative. Your manifesting emotion is fear. You are likely to attract things that are in alignment with your state. Therefore you will attract less success, fewer jobs, or less money. And you will wonder why the law of attraction hasn’t been working for you. It’s your state!
3- Check if there is any resistance inside
Say you’ve been consistent in creating the state and you feel positive overall. How about what you feel deep inside about the specific thing that you want to manifest?
Although you may think that we manifest one thing at a time, in life, we are constantly manifesting. We manifest our next home, car, relationship, work, friends, body, health… the list goes on and on. Some of these things come into your life very easily, that’s why you may not even pay attention to manifesting them. But some of them take longer time and more effort. Why is that? Why some things in life are effortlessly yours but others are hard (or impossible) to get?
If you realize that your manifestation is not working in some parts of your life, check your belief systems about that subject. Sometimes you can simply identify your belief by listening to your inner voice. What do you hear inside when you manifest your desire? Does it say “yea but…”? Pay attention to what comes after “but”. If your mind is giving you reasons why that thing won’t happen, your manifestation won’t be successful because you will attract what you believe.
Sometimes finding your beliefs may be more complicated because they are beliefs that you picked up from others such as family, culture, or other influencers. For example, imagine a child who grew up hearing that “making money is not easy” or “it’s hard to be rich”. When that child grows up and wonders why the law of attraction doesn’t work for making more money, his beliefs may be getting in the way.
Now, ask yourself, what area in life are you having a hard time? What are your subconscious beliefs about that? What did you observe growing up? What did your parents say about this topic? What do you hear within when manifesting?
4- Use your imagination on repeat
Imagination is one of the most powerful talents that we have as humans. When we imagine things, scenes, or our goals; our mind gets familiar with the concept and starts accepting them as reality. The more you imagine, the stronger that new connection gets. However, it is important to keep things positive, as always.
Understandably, many people may not be in the ideal state for manifestation in general but positive images, affirmations, or memories in the mind can help to stimulate a powerful positive state. This is the reason why on many manifesting resources we see important mind tools such as meditation, using imagery, journaling, vision board, doing one thing that makes you happy, or affirmations. When these tools are used daily, they will stimulate positive imagination and help you be in the “state” naturally.
Imagery is also good for creating “knowns” in the subconscious mind. Anything unfamiliar is an “unknown” to the subconscious mind. The mind prefers to do the known things over the unknown. When you are manifesting, more likely than not you are asking for something that you don’t have. By imagining your desire fulfilled, you are making that familiar with the subconscious mind.
The mind works best with repetition. Anything we repeat frequently, we master. Therefore, repeating a positive state, positive imagination, and being in a high frequency throughout the day is a must for successful manifesting.
