How Does It Feel to Be in a Past Life Regression Therapy Session?

Past life regression therapy is still a big mystery for all. How do you know if you had past lives? How do you know if it’s real or not? There are no set responses for any of these questions. Yet there are hundreds of people curious about their past lives and what it’s holding for them. If you are one of those people who are willing to give it a try but don’t know what to expect during the session, we will go through the step-by-step experience presented directly by the hypnotherapist, myself.

From the perspective of the experiencer, the session starts as soon as the person walks in. Every object in the room, the hypnotherapist, and the discussion topics will prepare the subconscious mind for a soon deeper connection. The first part of the therapy is the goal-setting discussion. It’s crucial to learn the reasons for exploring the past lives along with the obstacles that the person is dealing with in their current life. After the discussion part, hypnotic induction starts.

First, get comfortable with hypnosis

For someone who never experienced hypnosis, hypnosis can be mysterious and exciting. You may wonder, what is the difference between hypnosis and past life regression? To help distinguish characteristics of hypnosis from other experiences, we spend a good amount of time creating a comfortable hypnotic state. This is essential for past life regression therapy because it provides an in-depth understanding of hypnosis and also prepares the person for their past memories.

How do we know if it’s a dream, imagination, or reality?

Past life regression therapy is considered to be a confabulation. It simply means a perfect mixture of imagination and reality. At times, it may feel like a wonderful dream. Other times, people will have a clear memory of a feeling, a smell, or maybe even a sound of an image from the distant past. The truth is, there is no therapeutic benefit in dwelling on whether the experience is a piece of imagination or a past memory. Whatever the person is visualizing and experiencing during hypnosis are memorized for a reason. Most of the therapeutic effects can be reached by just following the journey and allowing whatever surfaces into the subconscious mind.

The lead of the facilitator

Following the hypnotic induction, the hypnotherapist will get the person into a deep hypnotic state with various techniques. Remember, past life memories are not on the surface level of the conscious mind. Therefore, it’s important to have valuable depth in the hypnosis to be able to reach those hidden memories. The subconscious mind saves all the past information just like a recorder. To tap into the old memories, the openness of the person and the subconscious mind plays a significant role.

Once the person is in the required depth, the hypnotherapist gently leads the person to their past life. Each person may have multiple past lives. The subconscious mind knows which memories will give the person the right insight for that specific time. It is necessary to trust in the subconscious mind and all the valuable insights provided.

Turning insights into wisdom

As the person experiences different parts and different memories from a lifetime, the hypnotherapist will be directing the person towards important life events such as times with loved ones, important places, or the death of the person. As it’s remembered, some images may be confusing and hard to understand. The facilitator’s role is to help the person make sense out of the surfaced memories. As the journeyer travels through one life, she/he will have the ability to connect and get help from the facilitator.

What if I don’t get any visuals?

Not many people will have clear and visual images during the past life regression journey. During the journey, one may feel strong emotions from a past life, a powerful scent, or maybe even just a sensation from a memory. Every experience is unique and everyone will experience as much as they are ready to face. There is no right or wrong way of experiencing past lives. Some people will get clearer images or other valuable insights in the following sessions. The more you experience past lives, the more insight you will get.

The end

The hypnotherapist will lead the person to other events in that past life until the necessary insight is found. After the newfound understanding, usually, people feel like they continue their life with a newfound perspective and respect for themselves. This therapy helps them deeply understand their life and the little details such as what makes them different or their purpose. Past life regression therapy also provides a new direction to conquer the obstacles and strengths to go about them.

Is it for you?

Only you can answer this question. If you think you are ready to unlock some of the most discrete memories you may have, past life regression therapy can be very revealing for you. If you have some unexplained coincidences in your life that make you wonder for more, or if you think life is more than what you have today, it may very well be worth a shot!
